This post is sponsored by JORD, but all opinions are my own.
Being the mom of a one year old is one of the greatest gifts I’ve ever been given. It comes with a lot of responsibility though! Recently we’ve been really trying to be intentional about not having our phones out as much around Littleman. We want him to see the world around him and be able to have conversations with people verbally. I know he’s only one but the time to start setting examples is now. I’m so used to checking my phone all the time for the time though. So being more intentional about not having it out all the time has been a little challenging. I’ve never been a huge jewelry person and to me, watches always kind of seemed manly. I’d started wearing my grandma’s old watch but realized that the more “traditional” looking watches didn’t really fit my style. So I’ve been on the hunt for something feminine, but also functional. Needless to say, when JORD reached out to me about their women’s line I was over the moon. I’ve been eyeing these beauties for a while and was so excited to be able to have a beautiful piece that would help me keep track of the time and complete my outfit!
Seriously though, I mean, even the packaging is pretty!
After receiving my watch, I thought to myself, with the holidays coming up (only about 9 more weeks until Christmas…what?!) , what a wonderful gift idea am I right?! Handcrafted and made out of such beautiful wood makes it such a unique and special piece to gift that special someone in your life. And don’t worry ladies-if you’re shopping for your man they’ve got a gorgeous men’s line too!
I’m super excited to let you guys in on a secret! I have partnered with JORD to give YOU 25% off of your order (Click HERE)! Why not start some Christmas shopping a little early and get a good bargain?! Ya’ll know I love a good deal. If you click the links below you can view the selection of women’s watches (including the one I’m wearing now!) and their men’s collection!
Usually, I am a very clean and organized person. Organizing makes me tick-it brings me joy. Seriously, you should see my planner. However, there has always been one thing I can’t seem to get together-my car. My car is my dirty little secret. For the most part, I’m the only one who uses it but every so often my husband needs to take it. So… I can sort of share the blame with him right? Haha. And ever since we had Littleman my car really looks like a bomb went off in it. We have to cram a stroller and a carseat in the rest of the mess. Sometimes it felt like I was playing tetris. So…I decided the other day that I was tired of it. I was tired of apologizing to someone when they got in my car, tired of finding places to cram the groceries or to fit my cup of coffee, tired of trash on the floor. I was almost embarrassed to take these photos and share them with you buuuut I figured if I put it out there someone would hold me accountable to NOT let it get like this again. Plus…I can laugh at it now.
I can hear you gasping from here. I know I know. It was bad you guys. But acceptance is the first step right? I pinned organization ideas, I googled best car organizers, I searched stores for cute baskets. There was a lot out there but I didn’t see anything that really stood out to me. So I decided I’d just take it one step at a time and figure it out as I went. I started by clearing it out completely. I took everything out sorting it into bags: “trash”, “to go inside”, and “car”. I put the car registration, proof of insurance, a copy of my AAA card, and the car manual in the glove compartment box. I also decided to keep some mints in there because let’s face it…coffee breath is no bueno.
I bought an adorable basket from Target that was on sale for $6.99. (You can find different colors here: http://www.target.com/p/-/A-52106981 ) I’ll keep stuff for Littleman in there (i.e. extra diapers and wipes, a change of clothes, a blanket, a few books/toys). This is stored in the trunk part of my car. Hubs likes me to have a set of jumper cables with me so I have a set in a nice little box back there as well. I also put together a small first aid/emergency kit. In it I decided to keep:
two water bottles
a few energy bars
an ace bandage
a flashlight with extra batteries
a cell phone charger
and an extra blanket.
We need a pretty large space for our stroller and hockey gear, so for the most part, I’m going to try to keep the rest of the trunk cleared. And for now…that’s it!
There are a few things I’d still like to get. I’m still searching for a good CD organizer because yes, I am old school and still enjoy listening to CDs. Also, I want to find a cute tiny folder to put my car documents in. If you have suggestions for either please let me know in the comments! Here’s the part you’ve all been eagerly waiting for…the CLEAN car photos!!! WOOOOOO!
I know there’s still progress to be made but hey I’m getting there. I can at least put stuff in my car now.
